The draft design for the new Dandenong Wellbeing Centre (new Dandenong Oasis) is now available for public comment. Community members are now invited to provide feedback on the draft plans. Feedback accepted until 15 December 2022.

In line with the latest Victorian State Government health advice, from Friday 19 November, all participants aged 12 years and 2 months and older must be fully vaccinated to attend our facility unless a medical exception applies. This applies to children in our program and any siblings that attend the centre.
 
Proof of vaccination will be required upon entry. Find out how you can get your COVID-19 digital certificate here. Immunisation History Statements are also acceptable proof.
 
If your child’s vaccination status impacts your participation, please contact us to discuss your personal return plan.
 
A few additional changes for your next visit include:

  • Masks are no longer needed in centre, however they are recommended when social distancing may not be possible.
  • Density limits will no longer apply.

The Victorian Government has announced the easing of restrictions from 6:00pm on Friday 29 October 2021.

In line with the latest restrictions the Dandenong Oasis will be re-opening from Saturday 30 October! We are very excited to announce that memberships will restart from this date however there will be density quotients in place.

We will be opening under the restricted operations listed below.

  • Monday to Friday open 4:00pm – 7:00pm 
  • Saturday and Sunday open 8:00am – 2:00pm (including public holiday)

Important Information Regarding Vaccinations
In line with Victorian State Government health advice, services will only be available for fully vaccinated patrons. Currently, those under 16 years old do not need to be vaccinated to participate.
 
Proof of vaccination (COVID-19 digital certificate) or medical exemption will be required upon entry. Find out how you can get your COVID-19 digital certificate.
 
Rest assured, our entire staff team is fully vaccinated as we work to keep our community safe. We look forward seeing you all when you return.
 
Centre Memberships
Your membership will be reactivated as we re-open the Centre and you can access the facility as of Saturday 30 October. As there is a 6-day credit on your account from shutdown, the first debit to your bank account will not occur until 04 November 2021. This debit may also be adjusted according to any debt pre the closure period or remaining credit.
 
We understand that some of you may not be ready to return, which is why we’re offering members a suspension period:
 
We are offering a four-week suspension period for our centre members. If you do not want to reactivate your membership and would like to remain suspended, complete this suspension form. You must submit this form on or before Wednesday 03 November 2021 to avoid your membership being automatically activated and debited.
 
Swimming Lessons Members
All current suspension of your Swimming Lessons membership will cease as of Friday 05 November and lessons will resume.
If your vaccination status impacts your return to Swimming Lessons (the accompanying adult must be fully vaccinated), please complete this form and a member of staff will be in touch to discuss your personal return plan.
 

 

Contact tracing at our centre

Our centre is using the Victorian Government Contact Tracing System.

Please ensure you are ready when you visit to scan the QR Code on site and complete minor details to record your visit.

Our centre will comply with any physical distancing or venue density requirements as outlined by the Victorian Government.

All spaces within the centre have been measured and density limits per space will be displayed and imposed.

In some areas, staff and visitors may be counted as they enter and exit spaces.

COVID Safe plan

All staff have completed the Department of Health COVID-Safe training, as well as additional training provided by YMCA Victoria to ensure they are equipped with the knowledge to keep you safe. We have also provided additional training for specific roles to ensure all programs operate safely with social distancing requirements in place.

  • Signage and instructions

    At our centre, you will see signage and instructions on how everyone can be COVID-safe. Hygiene and density signage will be displayed throughout the facility to help everyone with physical distancing requirements.

  • Covid-19 Vaccinations

    All facilities will comply with COVID-19 Vaccination requirements as directed by their government authority.

    The Y will provide staff opportunity to attend vaccination appointments and access vaccination information. 

  • Training for staff

    All staff have completed the Department of Health COVID-safe training, as well as additional training provided by YMCA Victoria to ensure they are equipped with the knowledge to keep you safe. We have also provided additional training for specific roles to ensure all programs operate safely with venue density requirements in place.

  • Venue density requirements

    In line with current requirements Venue Density limits based off the applicable Government Guidelines of either 1 person to 2m² or 4m² will apply to the Centre. This Density limit will be applied to the Centre as a whole, as well as all individual spaces within the Centre. All spaces within the centre have been measured and density limit per space will be displayed and imposed. In some areas staff and visitors may be counted as they enter and exit spaces.

    Please remember that we must all play our part in helping stop the spread of COVID-19. If a visitor does not follow our COVID-safe practices, including Venue Density requirements, they may politely be asked to leave the facility by a staff member.

  • Increased hygiene and cleaning

    You will notice that hand sanitiser is available throughout the centre with the expectation that everyone (staff and visitors) regularly sanitises their hands.

    The entire centre is cleaned regularly and in line with current requirements high touch points, such as doors, toilets and gym equipment, will be cleaned at minimum twice a day.

    Staff will also be wiping down gym equipment regularly and antibacterial wipes will be available for visitors to use before and after using equipment.

  • Process for a confirmed case

    Our staff have been trained to ensure that if there is a confirmed case at the centre, they have the tools and resources they need to close down safely. All visitors must sign in using the QR code, which allows us to contact trace those people who were at the centre. There will also be a contamination clean prior to reopening.

    Please do not visit the centre if you are experiencing any of the following symptoms: fever, cough, tiredness, cold, sore throat, runny nose, shortness of breath or headache. If you are experiencing any of these symptoms, please seek medical attention and be checked for COVID-19 at one of the testing stations across the state.
